Who can apply?

Our programs are open to students of all nationalities who are interested in studying at higher education institutions in France or who wish to learn French at a language school in France. However, please note that we have certain limitations and may not be able to accept applications from certain individuals.

Can I apply with a friend or partner?

Yes, we can help you and your friend or partner apply together. However, it’s important to note that each individual will need to complete their own official application paperwork. The immigration process requires separate applications for each person, even if you are applying as a group.

What is the cost of living in France?

The cost of living in France varies based on location, program, and personal preferences. On average, students need around 600 to 800 Euros per month to cover expenses like food, transportation, and accommodation. Government funding and many student discounts everywhere make studying in France relatively affordable.

Does Go! Go! France offer scholarships?

Unfortunately, we do not assist with financial aid or scholarships. However, there are various scholarships available for foreign students in France. French public institutes and the Erasmus+ program offer a wide range of scholarships to assist students in financing their studies in France and Europe. Can I bring medication to France?

When carrying medicinal products, it is important to ensure that the quantity does not exceed what is necessary for personal use. Personal use corresponds to the length of treatment specified by the medical prescription or, where there is none, treatment for 3 months. Can I bring my pet to France?

Importing pets from non-EU countries into the European Union requires declaration and presentation to Customs for document and identity checks. Failure to declare an animal can lead to fines and confiscation of the pet. Do I need a visa to study in France?

If you are a national of an EU country, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, or Switzerland, you do not need a student visa to study in France. If you are not a national of these countries, you may need a student visa depending on your nationality, purpose, and duration of stay. For stays not exceeding 3 months, nationals from certain non-EU countries may not be required to have a visa, while others must apply for a short-stay visa. For stays exceeding 3 months, a long-stay visa is required. Use our visa wizard to determine whether you need a visa.

Are your language programs eligible for student visas?

All of our partner language schools are accredited by the French Ministry of Education, which means student visas are available for students enrolling in their programs.

How long does it take to get a visa?

Visa applications are generally processed within 15 days. You should be able to submit your visa application between 3 months and 2 weeks prior to your departure date for a long-stay visa, and between 6 months and 3 weeks prior to your departure date for a short-stay visa. Applications cannot be submitted more than 6 months in advance.

Where do I submit my visa application?

You should submit your application to the French consulate or embassy in the country where you currently reside legally. It is important to apply at the appropriate consulate or embassy based on your current location. What supporting documents do I need?

You can typically expect to be asked for: passport, ID photographs, school enrollment certificate, proof of accommodation and proof of financial means. Depending on your situation, additional documents may be required, such as your last completed degree, resume, insurance certificate, round-trip flight ticket, etc. For a comprehensive and accurate list of required documents, we recommend visiting your local consulate or embassy.

How much funds do I need to prove?

Students that wish to live and study long-term in France should be able to demonstrate a monthly income of at least €615. However, we always recommend to prepare as much above this amount as possible.

How much does a visa cost?

Applicants are responsible for covering the administrative fees associated with their visa application. Please note that these fees are not associated with Go! Go! France but are directly related to the visa process. In general, the fee for short-stay visas is 80€, while for long-stay visas it amounts to 99€. This amount is given as an indication, some special cases may give rise to different rates.

Do I have to study French before going to France?

No, prior knowledge of French is not required before going to France. Language schools generally offer classes for various proficiency levels, including beginners. However, please note that some language schools may have specific start dates for beginners, while non-beginners may have the flexibility to join classes on any Monday.

How long does it take to learn French?

This depends on your goals. If you’re starting from a beginner level and have aspirations to work or pursue higher education in France, attaining a high level of proficiency is necessary. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) provides a rough estimation of the number of study hours required to reach each proficiency level. According to the CEFR, reaching A1 typically requires around 80-100 hours of study, while reaching C2 may require approximately 1,000-1,200 hours of study.

What are the levels offered?

According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) there are 6 levels; A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. The level A1 is the lowest and the level C2 is the highest. When reaching C2 students are supposed to have mastered the language.

How long does it typically take to complete each level?

Generally, it takes several weeks to a few months to complete each level. Full-time intensive programs may allow students to progress more quickly, while part-time programs may take longer. Here is a rough estimate of the average time it may take to complete each CEFR level for French:

Is there an age limit to apply to a language school in France?

There is generally no strict age limit to apply to a language school in France. Language schools cater to students of various age groups, including adults, teenagers, and children. Whether you are a young learner, a university student, a working professional, or a retiree, you can typically find language programs that suit your age and proficiency level.

I am under 18, is there any option for me to study in France?

Not all the schools can accept minors. Still, if you are under 18 years old and wish to apply to a language school in France, we can help you. It is important to note that some language schools may have specific policies or requirements for underage students. These policies may include parental consent forms, guardianship arrangements, or additional support and supervision during your stay.

Can I book multiple destinations for my French course?

Yes! You can combine several destinations and study lengths. For example, you can study 3 months in Paris and 3 months in Lyon. You can also combine more cities.

When do the French courses start?

Courses usually start every Monday. Depending on the school, beginners might have to start on a specific day such as the first Monday of the month. You can study as many weeks as you wish. Courses are held all year round.

How long is a French course?

You can freely choose the length of your course. It’s possible to book a course starting from 1 week up to 1 year. If the course length you are interested in isn’t indicated on our website, please contact us and we’ll provide you the exact price.

Are there any French language courses for absolute beginners?

Yes! You can book a French language course with us as an absolute beginner. However, please note that some language schools may have specific start dates for beginners, while non-beginners may have the flexibility to join classes on any Monday.

Do you provide any specific assistance for students with learning disabilities or special needs?

We understand the importance of supporting students with learning disabilities or special needs. We strive to create an inclusive and accommodating learning environment for all students. If you have a learning disability or special needs, we encourage you to contact us as early as possible, preferably before enrolling in our programs. How to determine the appropriate level for me?

You don’t need to worry about choosing a level, the school will take care of that when you begin your studies. Schools conduct placement tests to assess each student’s current level of proficiency. These tests evaluate the student’s speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills to determine the appropriate class level.

Can I choose my study schedule – morning or afternoon?

No, the scheduling of classes is determined by the school based on the students’ levels and organizing requirements. However, if you have specific constraints, like an afternoon internship, please inform us in advance. We will communicate this information to your school, and they will do their best to accommodate your request.

What is the minimum number of students required to create a group?

A group typically requires 6-8 students. For smaller groups, we offer attractive discounts, so please inquire about options for smaller numbers.

Do host families provide daily transportation to school, and how close are they to the school?

Daily transportation to school is not typically provided, as France boasts an excellent public transportation system. Host families are generally located close to the schools to facilitate easy commuting.

Do students participate in open or closed classes?

If all students in your group are of similar age and skill level, we can arrange for a dedicated class. Alternatively, students of varying levels are placed in existing classes after an initial placement test to ensure they receive instruction appropriate to their proficiency.

What types of educational themes can be included in the study trip?

We can incorporate a variety of educational themes tailored to your group’s interests, including French language and literature, art history, environmental science, culinary arts, and more. Each theme is designed to provide engaging and immersive learning experiences.

How do we handle dietary restrictions or allergies?

Yes, we offer pre-departure orientation sessions that cover cultural norms, basic language skills, and travel safety tips to ensure students are well-prepared and confident upon their arrival in France.

What are the visa and travel document requirements for studying in France?

Visa and travel document requirements depend on the student’s nationality and the duration of the stay. Typically, non-EU students staying for less than 90 days may need a short-stay visa. I have a disability, can I still join the course and activities?

Are the flights included in the price?

No, the cost of the trip does not include flights. Participants are responsible for arranging their own air travel to and from France. We are happy to provide advice on booking flights if needed.
