We have created tests for all proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced. Simply select the level that best matches your current skills. Once you’ve completed the test, you can review your results, retake it if needed, or move on to the next level.

15 minutes only

FRENCH LEVELS

Understanding your French level

Our test follows the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), used by French language schools and official exams like DELF/DALF. Your results will align with these levels.

A1 – Beginner

Understands and can use basic expressions. Introduces self and others. Interacts simply if spoken slowly and clearly.

A2 – Elementary

Understands common sentences and expressions on relevant topics. Communicates in simple tasks. Describes basic background and immediate needs.

B1 – Intermediate

Understands the main points of clear input on familiar matters. Deals with most situations while travelling. Produces simple connected text on familiar topics.

B2 – Upper-intermediate

Understands the main ideas of complex text on various topics. Interacts fluently with native speakers. Produces clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects.

C1 – Advanced

Understands a wide range of demanding texts and implicit meaning. Speaks fluently without much searching. Uses language flexibly for social, academic, and professional purposes.

C2 – Proficient

Understands everything heard or read with ease. Summarises and reconstructs information coherently. Expresses very fluently and precisely, even in complex situations.
